Application For Permanent Residence Permit
Dependent Permit
Dependent Permit
If you wish to bring your family with you and enjoy a peaceful life in Mauritius, the Dependent Permit allows your spouse (including opposite-sex common-law partner), parents, and unmarried children (including stepchildren or legally adopted children) to reside in the country linked to your permit.
To be eligible, you must hold a valid Occupation Permit or Residence Permit, such as an investor permit, self-employed permit, professional permit, or retired non-citizen permit.
Dependents are not allowed to engage in any gainful activity. If an adult dependent wishes to work or run their own business, they must apply for their own Investor or Self-Employed Permit, or an Occupation Permit (Professional) if a local company intends to employ them.

Eligibility Criteria for a Dependent Permit:
- The application must be submitted after the main permit holder’s approval, to the Passport and Immigration Office (PIO) using the official form.
- Each family member must submit their own application.
- Fee: USD 400 per dependent.
- Processing time: approximately 10 days after approval.
- Requirements for the main permit holder: a valid permit, sufficient financial resources, and suitable accommodation for the family.
- Requirements for dependents: proof of family relationship, clean criminal record for adults, health insurance, and for children: dependent or student status, under 24 years of age.
The process can be complemented with practical services to facilitate your relocation in Mauritius, including property purchase or rental, car rental, school search for children, and more.
